First Steps

I was born in 1972 in Brasov, Romania. Since I can remember, I was always interested in drawing. There was a pivotal moment in my childhood, at the age of six, when I first realized that the chimneys of the houses I used to draw perpendicular to the roofs were not really the way they appeared in reality.

Since then, I started to observe my environment much more closely and my desire to put all things on paper grew with increasing interest. Drawing soon became a passion of mine.

When Passion Becomes More

My drawing skills improved considerably as a teenager, while attending a three year program at an institute for graphic arts and design. From there, it was a short step for me to realize that I wanted to make my passion my job. I started my design studies at the University of Applied Science in Duesseldorf, Germany. During this time, I was already working as an illustrator. I was also giving drawing lessons and worked as an assistant teacher in drawing classes at my university.

A Special Appearance

Since my graduation in 1999, I worked as a freelance designer and illustrator. It was a special honour for me to be nominated as one of the best illustrators in Germany, and my appearance in the publication „FREISTIL - Best of German Commercial Illustration“, was a great personal achievement for me.
